The ocean’s surface is something familiar, whether by a glimpse or long period of time it is something that has become known amongst all human life. Reflecting blues or greys, becoming rough or smooth, the moving water takes on many different forms and characteristics.

By using multiple types of manipulation, I highlight these differences. I work with what is known and create something foreign and unseen, and by doing so present a world that holds many more questions. What comes from these manipulations is a sense of paused beauty, commenting on the mystery of a body of water with which human kind thinks it is so close to but, in fact, is less known than our solar system.
